How do I point www and A record to another host?
Steps:
If your website is hosted on Linux2 or a Server with DirectAdmin Control Panel.
- Log into DirectAdmin Control Panel using your username and password.
- Click on DNS Manangement.
- Tick the DNS record labeled www.
- Tick the DNS record labeled with your domain name and a trailing period.
- Make sure only the DNS records with www and your domain name with a trailing period are selected.
- Click on the Delete Selected button.
- Scroll down where it says Add Domain Records.
- In the text field next to the "A" type in www and the IP address for the new host and click Add.
- In the text field next to the "A" type in your domain name with a trailing period (i.e. ocosa.com.) and the IP address for the new host and click Add.
- Wait for the Internet to propagate the DNS changes (Usually 24 to 48 hours) and your www and A record will be point to your new host.
