Configure Outlook XP for POP3 & SMTP

If you use Microsoft Outlook XP/2002 and you want to add a IMAP and SMTP account then this is the correct document.

 

Steps:

 

  1. Open up Microsoft Outlook XP/2002.
  2. Click "Tools".
  3. Click "Email Accounts".
  4. On the "E-mail" seciton click "Add a new e-mail account".
  5. Tick the "POP3" and click next.
  6. Fill in fields with the appropriate information.
  7. Your incoming and outgoing server should be mail.yourdomainname.com.
  8. Your login information is your full email address and password. Make sure the "Remember password" is checked.
  9. Click "More Settings"
  10. On the "Outgoing Server" tab, check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  11. Make sure the you tick the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" and click OK.
  12. Click next then click Finish.
