Configure Outlook 2007 for POP3 & SMTP

If you use Microsoft Outlook 2007 and you want to add a POP3 and SMTP account then this is the correct document.

 

Steps:

 

  1. Open up Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  2. Click "Tools".
  3. Click "Account Settings".
  4. On the "E-mail" tab click "New".
  5. Tick the "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP" and click next.
  6. Fill in fields with the appropriate information.
  7. Check the "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" and click next.
  8. Tick the "Internet E-mail" and click next.
  9. Make sure the Account Type is set to POP3.
  10. Your incoming and outgoing server should be mail.yourdomainname.com.
  11. Your login information is your full email address and password. Make sure the "Remember password" is checked.
  12. Click "More Settings"
  13. On the "Outgoing Server" tab, check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  14. Make sure the you tick the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" and click OK.
  15. Click next then click Finish.
